Orchids of Sardinia
The second-largest Mediterranean island after Sicily, owing to the wide variety of habitats packed into its unspoilt and beautiful interior, Sardinia has been metaphorically described as a micro-continent. It abounds with special orchids, and must be considered one of Europe's most orchid-rich destinations, home to some marvellous endemic and near-endemic species.
